What are Edible icing sheets?
Edible icing sheets are also known as frosting sheets or cake toppers, which most people know. These sheets are manufactured in a wide range of shapes as well as sizes. The most popular size of icing sheets is A4 which makes it easier to print on all food printers. On the other hand, A3 sheets are also available, but these icing sheets require a big format printer that is custom-made so that the A3 icing sheet would be able to fit. A5 size sheets are just recently added to the range of sizes and this size accommodates smaller size prints that several people utilize as home decorations.
Each sheet is a very slim piece of tasteless icing, white in color and attached to a plastic backing sheet for the sheets to pass through the printer. As soon as it is printed, it is dried completely, and detached from the backing sheet. The edible icing is very flexible and controllable without even breaking or splitting. These edible icing are made from the following components: cellulose, citric acid, cornstarch, corn syrup, corn syrup solids, gum arabic, polysorbate 80, sugar, vegetable oil, and water. Every edible sheet is very safe for human consumption and it is compliant to the standards set by EC with 100% EC permitted ingredients. The list of all the ingredients is in every packet of edible icing, together with the expiry date. All sheets can last up to 12 months as long as it is properly stored.
